CAMARILLO : Trailer, $26,000 in Tarps Stolen at Dock
A 40-foot trailer holding more than 1,100 tarps worth $26,000 was stolen from a Camarillo loading dock, authorities said Monday. The thieves may have used a $47,000 truck recently stolen from another part of the city to haul the trailer, Ventura Sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Lazz said.
Lazz said the 10-wheel truck was stolen from Lewis Road, where its owner, William Rucker, had left it parked Tuesday. When Rucker returned Friday, he discovered the truck gone and his trailer abandoned 400 yards away, Lazz said.
Sometime between Thursday at 6 p.m. and Friday at 8 a.m., another trailer holding 11,390 polyethylene tarps was stolen from a loading dock on East Dawson Drive in Camarillo.
No one had been arrested as of Monday.
