Microsemi Corp.: The Santa Ana semiconductor company reported third-quarter earnings of $939,000, or 12 cents per share--including an extraordinary gain of $250,000--compared to earnings of $377,000, or 5 cents per share, for the year-earlier period. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 fell 14% to $20.4 million from $23.6 million. However, the company said revenue from continuing businesses rose 8% to $20.4 million from $18.9 million. For the nine-month period, earnings totaled $2.6 million, or 34 cents per share, contrasted with a loss of $39,000, or 1 cent per share, for the corresponding period the year before. The 1991 period figures reflect an extraordinary gain of $879,000, or 12 cents per share, from the repurchase of the company’s convertible debentures at less than face value and from an operating loss carry-forward. Sales fell 8% to $60 million from $65.4 million.
