Debora de Hoyos, 37, has been named managing partner of Chicago-based Mayer, Brown & Platt, the 12th-largest law firm in the country. It is the first appointment of a woman to the position of managing partner in any large U.S. law firm, according to Mayer Brown. Managing partner is the roughly the legal industry equivalent to chief executive.
