The Downtown Development Corp. in Tucson and a real estate broker unveiled a proposal to build a $20-million spring training baseball complex--if at least two major league teams commit to it.
The plan calls for a 10,000-seat stadium and practice field complex, with offices, other team facilities and at least 2,000 parking spaces.
The site, owned by the DDC, a city-created entity that owns and develops downtown properties, is west of downtown and the Santa Cruz River, with a bus barn and landfills to the south.
