Golfer’s Special Yen for Jordan Ranch
Golf is probably the biggest fund-raising mechanism for charities in Ventura County. Every year, numerous golf tournaments are held to raise money for worthy charities--for the Ventura County Symphony, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ventura County, Boys and Girls Clubs, Casa Pacifica, Special Olympics, and many others.
For the last four years, I have worked many hours as a volunteer marshal at the L.A. Open and I have marshaled the two Senior PGA golf tournaments held at the Ojai Valley Inn. It is great to watch the pros play my favorite game.
So, it is with a selfish motive that I hope the Jordan Ranch proposal in the Thousand Oaks area is approved. The PGA golf course planned for inclusion in its development would be the venue for a PGA tournament. The tournament would probably raise more money for charities than the sum of all the other tournaments in the county.
