U.S. Baseball Team Wins Again in Canada
The United States team at the World Youth Baseball Championships in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, is the only remaining undefeated team after it defeated Mexico, 9-3, Sunday.
Lionel Hastings, a graduate of Mater Dei High School, and Cale Carter, who will be a senior at the school in September, each had one hit for the United States. The third-seeded U.S. team has won each of its three games--including a 2-1 victory over second-seeded Chinese Taipei on Saturday--and will play the Netherlands today. Top-seeded Cuba has lost one of its three games.
