Beatty and ‘Bugsy’
Your scribe alludes to Bugsy Siegel having adopted a life of crime by “serendipity.”
On April 15, 1931, Siegel murdered Joe Messeria.
On Sept. 30, 1935, he murdered Joey and Louis Amberg.
On Nov. 11, 1939, he murdered Harry Greenberg.
On July 31, 1941, he murdered Whitey Krakower.
All this and Vegas too. What a guy! The producer, Mark Johnson, is quoted thus: “He was more a builder than a destroyer.”
Viva, Hollywood!
