VENTURA : Fire Damages Cars in Auto Showroom
Ventura fire officials suspect arson in an overnight fire that destroyed one car, damaged several others and left the showroom of Paradise Chevrolet on Victoria Avenue blackened by smoke, authorities said Thursday.
The fire, set late Wednesday or early Thursday, caused more than $75,000 in heat and smoke damage to showroom vehicles and the building’s interior, Assistant Fire Chief Ken Hess said. It was not detected until dealership owner Bob Gregory arrived for work at 7 a.m. Thursday.
