OXNARD : Man Found in Lot Dies of Head Injuries

Police on Monday were investigating the death of a 48-year-old Oxnard man who was found unconscious near El Rio Liquors in Oxnard.
Arthur Peralta died of head injuries early Monday morning after undergoing brain surgery at Ventura County Medical Center, authorities said.
Peralta was discovered lying in the parking lot of El Rio Liquors on Vineyard Ave about 5 p.m. Sunday, police said. Detective Ray Bustillos said it appeared that Peralta hit his head against the curb in the parking lot, although it is not clear whether he fell or was pushed. Witnesses reported that Peralta was intoxicated as he walked from a park to the store.
