Hold the Champagne: The wedding of actress Julia Roberts and actor Kiefer Sutherland was abruptly and unexpectedly put on hold Tuesday. A one-sentence statement issued by Roberts’ publicist, Pat Kingsley, said “by mutual agreement the wedding . . . has been postponed.” Roberts’ agent, Elaine Goldsmith, said she had no comment and referred calls to Kingsley, who in turn said, “I know exactly what that statement says and nothing else.” The wedding was scheduled to take place Friday in Century City, on the 20th Century Fox lot. The 23-year-old Roberts, who is currently filming “Hook” for Tri-Star, has become a power player in Hollywood after only six major movies in the last three years and commands more money than any other actress.
