PerfectData Profit Up 18% Over Year-Earlier Quarter

PerfectData Corp., a Simi Valley company that makes products for cleaning and maintaining computers, said its profit grew by 18% in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 to $147,000 from $125,000 a year earlier. Revenues rose 33% to $1.85 million from $1.39 million.

For the year that ended March 31, the company earned $601,000 on a 53% increase in revenues to $6.17 million. In the previous year, it earned $132,000 on $4.05 million in revenues.

PerfectData attributed the earnings and revenue gains to cost controls and the introduction of new products.
