Metal Detector: The touring schedule for “Operation Rock & Roll,” which should probably be dubbed “Operation Heavy Metal,” has been set. Featuring Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Dangerous Toys and Metal Church, the nationwide tour sponsored jointly by Sony Music and Pace Concerts begins July 9 in Salt Lake City and ends Aug. 18 in Toronto. The lone Southern California date is July 12 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre.
