BASEBALL : DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Reliever Young Sent to Edmonton

Left-handed reliever Cliff Young, who has not pitched since being recalled May 21 from triple-A Edmonton, was sent down by the Angels to make room for Fernando Valenzuela.

X-rays on the bruised right foot of reliever Bob McClure were negative. McClure was hit by a batted ball Wednesday. . . . Among the Angel draftees is Mike Monday, a part-time catcher at Orange Coast College and a son of former Dodger Rick Monday.
