Regrouping in Irvine: Yet another big tenant, the laboratory equipment manufacturer Newport Corp., will jump from Fountain Valley to Irvine and a $22.5-million, 15-year lease.
The company will take 212,000 square feet for its headquarters and manufacturing operations in three buildings at the corner of Aston Street and Deere Avenue. Newport wanted to consolidate from the five buildings it now occupies. The move will happen next spring.
