SAN DIEGO — Elgar Corp., an electronics company that makes equipment that regulates the flow of electricity to computers, employs about 270 people here. In the last year, 15 people were laid off in an effort to streamline during the recession, according to personnel manager Tom Erickson.
Formerly owned by Onan Corp., a Minneapolis-based company, Elgar was sold two years ago to Dobson Park, a British company whose principal business is metals fabrication.
According to Standard & Poor’s Register, Elgar does $40 million in sales annually.
