The smaller new home is more popular in Orange County than in any of the other five Southern California urbanized counties. While 28% of the new homes sold in 1990 in Orange County had two bedrooms or fewer, no other regional county had a comparable percentage of 20 or more. Ventura County was the closest with 18%. Orange County also had the smallest average number of bedrooms in all new homes sold last year. Here are the comparisons:
