Sorvino Cast: Actor Paul Sorvino, last seen as a jovial but tough mobster in the film “GoodFellas,” will replace George Dzundza in NBC’s “Law & Order,” last season’s highest-rated new dramatic series. Dzundza departed the gritty crime drama series, which shoots in New York City, to remain closer to his family in Los Angeles. Executive producer Dick Wolf said that Sorvino will team with co-star Chris Noth as a detective-sergeant, “but he will be a totally different character from Dzundza’s everyman cop. He’ll be more like the character he played in ‘GoodFellas.’ ”
