New Skylight Dome Goes Up by Night
A new skylight dome that is nearly double the size of the last one is being built as part of the renovation of Promenade Mall in Woodland Hills.
To build the dome, a 200-foot-tall, 250-ton construction crane was brought in last week in five sections and then assembled.
The crane was used by construction workers to extend the size of the skylight to 77 feet in diameter. Construction took place between 1 and 9 a.m. each day so that the work would not interfere with retail operations.
