Bechtloff, Burros Advance to Final of Surfing Challenge
NEWPORT BEACH — C.C. Bechtloff of Huntington Beach and Fred Burros won their semifinal heats Saturday to advance to today’s final of the men’s division of the Quiksilver Gen X Challenge amateur surfing competition at 54th Street beach.
Before the finals, Bechtloff and Burros will compete in a team competition with professionals from the world tour, including Richie Collins and Kelly Slater, beginning at 7 this morning.
