NATION IN BRIEF : GEORGIA : Goat Gores to Death Man Who Beat It
- Share via
A man who regularly beat his 100-pound goat with a stick because he wanted to make it a mean watchdog was gored to death by the animal, authorities said. Carl Hulsey, 77, a retired poultry worker from Canton, Ga., was prodding his goat, Snowball, with a stick when the animal butted him twice, officials reported. Investigators said Hulsey pulled himself onto the front porch of his home, but the goat followed and rammed his horns into him. Hulsey had owned the goat for the last year and was beating it regularly with sticks to make it wary of people, Cherokee County Coroner Norman Sosebee said. Animal control officials picked up the animal but had not decided what to do with it.
