Stuttering in ‘Oscar’
In Touchstone Pictures’ film “Oscar,” a minor character played by Eddie Bracken stutters quite severely; he plays a low-life informant.
The biggest laugh from the audience comes when the phone is rudely hung up on the stutterer in the middle of a word he is trying to say. This is certainly inappropriate behavior. I hope the public does not start doing this in real life for laughs.
I would hope that Touchstone and Disney Studios do not support this kind of behavior, and we look to them to do something publicly to combat this from happening.
