Howard Rosenberg’s column “NBC’s Abdication of Responsibility” (April 24) was brilliant. His comments on the network’s decision to air the name of the woman in the Kennedy rape case are a glaringly true and sad assessment of our society.
The same people who can’t see clearly what a person’s individual rights are--whether sexual preference, artistic expression or a rape victim’s anonymity--are the same ones who read the tabloids and watch these exploitive news reports religiously. Who knows, they may even be the same ones who uncover the dirt.
