The City Council has hired an architectural firm to prepare a master plan for the city’s downtown redevelopment area.

In a unanimous vote last week , the council chose Newport Beach-based Langdon Wilson Architecture & Planning, which also worked on the Richard M. Nixon Library and Birthplace, to prepare the master plan for $175,000. The council also approved $10,000 in in-house expenses for preparation of the study.
