California IN BRIEF : SOUTH LAKE TAHOE : Man Sentenced in ‘I-5 Strangler’ Case

Roger Kibbe was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for strangling a 17-year-old runaway in one of the “I-5 Strangler†killings. Kibbe, 51, of Citrus Heights, must serve a minimum of 16 years and eight months before he could be considered for parole. A jury had convicted Kibbe of one count of first-degree murder in the slaying of Darcie Frackenpohl of Seattle. Her partially nude body was found near Echo Summit in 1987.
