PREP ROUNDUP : Newport Harbor Pitcher Gets No-Hitter

Jenny Colclasure pitched a no-hitter as Newport Harbor defeated Corona del Mar, 4-0, in a Sea View League softball game Friday at Newport Harbor.
Colclasure (10-9) struck out eight and hit a batter.
Ali Berry had two hits and scored twice and Jenny Hall had two hits and scored for host Newport Harbor (10-9, 3-7).
In nonleague softball:
Mater Dei 8, Canyon 5--Kim Fox hit a two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie for visiting Mater Dei (19-6). Jennifer Clark had two runs batted in and four hits, including a home run in the sixth inning to give Mater Dei an 8-2 lead.
In Academy League softball:
St. Margaret’s 4, Cal Lutheran 3--Debbie Boka and Kelly Anderson hit back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning for the winning run for host St. Margaret’s (12-2, 5-1). Cal Lutheran is 6-4, 2-4.
In the Righetti Tournament:
University 1, Righetti 0--Shareen Patton (13-3) pitched a five-hitter for visiting University (19-5) in the first round of the tournament that was postponed because of rain during spring break. Carrie Kirk had a two-out double in the seventh to drive in Heather Campbell.
In Southern Section Division 3-A boys’ tennis playoffs:
Troy 10, Laguna Hills 8--Troy needed the final singles set to win the match, or teams would have had to play a tiebreaker. In that final set, senior Bobby Brobst won, 7-6. Brobst won his other two sets, 6-2 6-2; Jim Farley swept his sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4, and Paul Park swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3, for host Troy (15-6).
