Passing the Baton: The New York state Senate honored Zubin Mehta, the retiring music director of the New York Philharmonic, with a special legislative resolution Thursday. After 13 seasons, Mehta will give his last performance with the Philharmonic on May 28, but he will continue to conduct for orchestras in Vienna, Berlin and Israel, among other places.
