Titans’ Boyd Shares Pitcher of Year Award

Tiffany Boyd of Cal State Fullerton and Terry Carpenter of Fresno State have been selected as the Big West Conference co-pitchers of the year.
Boyd, a sophomore right-hander who graduated from Woodbridge High School and transferred from UCLA, posted an ERA of 0.63, and has a conference-leading 31 victories, 16 shutouts, and 222 strikeouts.
Carpenter, a graduate of Edison High School, is 24-2 and leads the conference with an earned-run average of 0.30. The junior right-hander also earned Big West Pitcher of the Year honors in 1989 during her freshman year.
Fullerton outfielder Mich DeBree and shortstop Jill Matyuch earned first-team All-Big West honors, while first baseman Kelly Hunt and pitcher Ann Van Dortrecht were second-team selections. Titan third baseman Joy Tiner received an honorable mention.
