Cal State Fullerton is negotiating to open its 1992 football season at Hawaii instead of at San Diego State as originally scheduled.

“We haven’t actually signed a contract (with Hawaii), but we’re working out the details,†Fullerton Athletic Director Steve DiTolla said.

The Titans were scheduled to play San Diego State on Sept. 5, 1992, but the Aztecs want to play host to USC that day.

Brett Winslow and Brent Hilliard of Cal State Long Beach have been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Assn. All-America first team.

Hilliard, a sophomore from Dana Hills High School and Winslow, a senior from University High, led the 49ers to the NCAA Final Four this weekend in Hawaii.

Long Beach’s Alan Knipe, a junior from Marina High, and USC’s Nick Becker, a senior from Mater Dei, were named to the second team. USC’s Bryan Ivie was named player of the year.
