$7.6 Million Awarded in Final Navy Yard Suits: A jury in New York made the award to asbestos victims and their survivors in the final 15 federal lawsuits related to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The ruling ended years of lawsuits in an important case involving the dangerous insulating material. The defendants in the cases were Owens-Illinois Inc., Empire-Ace Insulation Manufacturing Corp., Keene Corp. and Fibreboard Corp. of Concord, Calif.
