Sheriff’s and district attorney’s investigators probing the financial affairs of the Huntington Park Casino served search warrants Monday on the home of Mayor Thomas Jackson, the casino and others, authorities said.

The warrants were served “in connection with a continuing criminal investigation into the activities of the principals of the Huntington Park card club and others,†district attorney’s office spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.

The investigation began in January after an inquiry by sheriff’s detectives that was begun in April, 1990. The casino had provided the city with between $400,000 and $700,000 in annual income, but had fallen into financial difficulty and declared bankruptcy, eventually seeking city funds.
