MCA Settles Suit Over Florida Park Rides: MCA Inc. has reached an out-of-court settlement on its lawsuit against the designer of the Earthquake and Jaws rides at its Universal Studios Florida theme park, the designer said. Terms of the settlement between Los Angeles-based MCA, which became a unit of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. in January, and Ride & Show Engineering Inc. of San Dimas were not disclosed. MCA sued Ride & Show in Florida last June, alleging negligence and breach of contract in connection with the malfunctioning rides at the $600-million theme park, which opened last June.
