Cypress’ Pauley to Play Basketball at Kansas
CYPRESS — Eric Pauley, who set nine single-season or career records at Cypress College, announced Monday he has made an oral commitment to play basketball at Kansas, where he will enroll in the fall.
Pauley, a 6-foot-10, 210-pound forward, averaged 21 points and nine rebounds in helping Cypress to the state semifinals this season. He set the Cypress single-season scoring record with 744 points this year. He will sign his letter of intent Wednesday.
“I thought this would be the best opportunity for me,” Pauley said. “I will get to play against some great players and with some great players.”
Pauley played at Savanna High School, where he was an all-Orange League player in 1987-88. He was a redshirt at Cypress in 1988-89 and played the next two seasons. He was an all-state player this year.
