Two public forums are scheduled Wednesday to discuss whether a high school should be set up in Malibu.
One, sponsored by the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, will feature three supporters of the high school, including Eugene Tucker, superintendent of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, and three opponents, including former school board member Della Barrett. The forum is at John Adams Middle School, 2425 16th St., Santa Monica.
The other forum, organized by the Santa Monica Democratic Club, will take place at John Muir Elementary School, at Lincoln and Ocean Park boulevards. School board President Patricia Hoffman and member Mary Kay Kamath, and two opponents of the high school, parent Maria Leon Vazquez and Santa Monica High School student Julie Ann Hackman, will debate the issue.
Panel discussions will start at 7:30 p.m., and there will be time for questions from the audience.
