Dog Dangling in Snow Rescued After 9 Days
OSLO — A dog named Bonzo leaped a farm fence, caught his foot and dangled upside down for nine days, living on snow while awaiting rescue, a newspaper reported Friday.
“I had given up hope,†Bonzo’s owner, Torstein Nerbraaten, told the Dagbladet newspaper, after the border collie was rescued near Nor-Aurdal, in midwestern Norway.
The farmer said he searched and advertised in the local newspaper in hopes of finding Bonzo.
Alerted by a soft whine, a passerby discovered the 7-year-old dog in a thicket near the farm last week, hanging upside down with his head in the snow.
“I was unbelievably happy,†Nerbraaten said. But no happier than thin, limping Bonzo.
