2 Die After Argument Involving Girlfriend
A Lake Los Angeles man shot and killed his girlfriend’s brother and then turned the gun on himself after arguing over the woman and her children, authorities said Thursday.
Shean Dennis, 23, shot Angel Vega, 20, in the chest and head in the back room of the three-bedroom house that they shared in the 40200 block of Ronar Street about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Gabe Ramirez. Dennis then shot himself in the head, Martinez said.
Both men were pronounced dead at 9:15 p.m.
Vega’s sister, Christine Vega, 31, was Dennis’ girlfriend. She lived at the house with the two men and her three children. Martinez said Vega and Dennis had been arguing for several days about the relationship between Dennis and Christine Vega. Martinez could not elaborate on the nature of the arguments.
After several minutes of yelling, Vega went to his bedroom. Dennis later walked into Vega’s room with a .357 magnum revolver and shot him and then shot himself, Martinez said.
Christine Vega heard the shots and found the two men sprawled on the floor. She took her children--aged 6 months, 2 and 3--to a neighbor’s house and telephoned sheriff’s deputies.
