Two Players Quit Softball Team at CS Northridge

Cal State Northridge softball players Leilani Artis and Nicki Noyes left the team last week because of personal reasons, Coach Gary Torgeson said.
Artis, a junior center fielder, was batting .300 with a team-leading 10 stolen bases. Noyes, a freshman, had played in only five games.
According to Torgeson, Noyes wanted to concentrate on her studies. He would not elaborate on Artis’ reasons for leaving the team.
“It’s always sad to see someone leave,” Torgeson said, “but there are no professional contracts at the end of the tunnel, so you got to really love the sport to stay in it.”
