PREP ROUNDUP : Beattie Shines in Santa Margarita’s 17-0 Victory

Katie Beattie pitched a one-hitter and struck out six in leading Santa Margarita to a 17-0 victory Monday over visiting Costa Mesa.
Deni Milewski had a two-run home run and Nicole Raimann had three hits and three RBIs for the Mustangs (4-9).
In other nonleague softball:
Westminster 1, Capistrano Valley 0--Andrea Doty pitched a five-hitter for host Westminster (3-2). After hitting a double and moving to third on a sacrifice, Tammy Fuller scored the only run in the third inning on a fielder’s choice.
Dana Hills 6, El Modena 0--Heather Buchanan had three hits and two RBIs for host Dana Hills (2-0).
In the Canyon softball tournament:
Los Alamitos 5, Rancho Alamitos 3--Caroline Dolan had a double, home run and three runs batted in for Los Alamitos (4-1), which advanced into championship pool play.
In nonleague tennis:
Irvine 10, Marina 8--Cory Beacham (6-2, 6-1, 6-2) swept in singles and Alex Yong and Lenny Perez (6-2, 6-0, 6-2) swept in doubles for host Irvine (2-3).
Dana Hills 16, Fountain Valley 2--Ben Stevens (6-3, 6-0, 6-3) and Kurt Bruggeman (7-5, 6-3, 6-2) each won in singles for host Dana Hills (7-0), which became the first team to defeat Fountain Valley (6-1) this season.
University 16, Laguna Beach 2--Bryan Shapiro and Steve Tze (6-0, 6-0, 6-1) won their doubles sets for host University (5-1).
Esperanza 9, La Quinta 9 (Esperanza wins on games, 90-83)--Dan Harris (7-5, 6-2, 6-2) and Mike Burgess (6-2, 6-2, 7-5) each swept in singles for host Esperanza (8-0). La Quinta is 5-1.
Capistrano Valley 12, Laguna Hills 6--Ion Marinescu (6-2, 6-1, 6-0) won his singles sets for host Capistrano Valley (7-0).
In nonleague golf:
Trabuco Hills 213, Tustin 290--Zachary Allen shot three-over 39 for Trabuco Hills (5-0) at Tustin Ranch.
Western 191, Costa Mesa 255--Tiger Woods and Gary Holder each shot one-over 35 for Western at Dad Miller.
El Modena 213, Garden Grove 258--Brian Madden shot five-over 40 for El Modena (5-1) at Willowick.
In nonleague volleyball:
Villa Park 3, Kennedy 0--Tim Mitchell had 11 kills and Craig Smith had 10 kills and seven blocks for visiting Villa Park (2-4), a 17-15, 15-9, 17-15 winner.
