A 48-year-old South Gate woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death after an argument Sunday night at a Santa Ana party, police said Monday.
Martha Mae Ortiz and her husband, Jimmy Ortiz, 46, were attending a party at a friend’s home in the 2000 block of West 1st Street when the argument began about 11 p.m., said Maureen Haacker, a spokeswoman for the Santa Ana Police Department. It was not immediately determined what provoked the dispute.
Ortiz was found dead by police inside the mobile home where the incident took place. A large carving knife was found at the scene.
Martha Mae Ortiz was charged with murder and is being held on $250,000 bail at Orange County Jail. Police are continuing their investigation.
