Allied Victory in Mideast War
I have just finished reading Clancy’s column. As one who has believed all along that the proper analogy was pre-World War II, and that we had a chance to stop a Hitler before it became too late, I agree entirely with his comments. We do owe a great debt to our men and women in the armed forces and to the coalition forces. And, whatever else people think of him, President Reagan deserves credit for leadership in the 1980s in restoring the military. And not enough can be said about President Bush’s leadership throughout this period. We owe him and our military leadership an equal debt of gratitude.
