A new U.S. government office is taking 2,000 CALLS A DAY FROM COMPANIES AND WORKERS wanting a part in rebuilding Kuwait, Commerce Secretary Robert A. Mosbacher said. The department plans to open a Foreign Commercial Service office in Kuwait city next week “so that U.S. businesses can get their fair share of contracts†in the rebuilding effort, Mosbacher said. He told a Senate panel that most calls coming into the 16 phone lines at the new Gulf Reconstruction Center in Washington are referred to the Kuwaiti ambassador’s business office.
