Dealing With Water Shortage
Assemblyman David G. Kelly (letter, Feb. 25) defends agriculture’s use of our dwindling water supply by pointing out that if we did not grow alfalfa, livestock prices would skyrocket. Let me get this straight--if we choose this avenue of conservation we not only save water, but we lessen the incidence of heart disease, some cancers and obesity? Sounds like a good trade to me.
