In other Pirate games:
Oceanside 6, Laguna Beach 6--Oceanside starter John Portugal, a sophomore right-hander, struck out nine in 5 1/3 innings. Frank was trying to score on a single from Jason Borthwick.
Rancho Buena Vista 2, El Camino 1--All three runs were unearned. After El Camino pushed one across in the sixth, Rancho Buena Vista scored two itself in the bottom half, one on an error, the other on a passed ball. Pitcher Jim Perez came relieved in the seventh and struck out the side for the save.
