A man whose body was found in the trunk of a car in Fillmore last weekend has been identified as Ramiro Costilla, 22, of Camarillo, officials said Thursday.
Costilla had been stabbed many times, put into the trunk of his car and driven to King Street in Fillmore one to three weeks ago, a Ventura County sheriff’s spokesman said.
The body was discovered when area residents began smelling a foul odor coming from the vehicle and called authorities.
Lt. Joe Funchess said Costilla’s employer, whom he did not identify, last saw the man on Feb. 5 and reported him missing Feb. 11.
