AST Stock Offering Brings in $49 Million

Irvine-based AST Research Inc. on Thursday issued 2 million additional shares in a public offering.

At $24.75 a share, the offering raised $49.5 million for the personal computer maker.

Net proceeds will be used for working capital, new product development and other corporate purposes.

AST now has about 30 million common shares outstanding.
