Maudette Ball of Newport Beach has been named director of the John Wayne Airport Arts Program. She will split her time between developing and coordinating airport art exhibits and activities and managing unrelated airport public relations projects. Ball is former administrative director of the Urban Arts Program at Foothill Ranch, a planned community in Saddleback Valley; she also was executive director of the Palos Verdes Art Center. An airport official said one of Ball’s first duties will be to prepare a report on the future of the airport art program, which has been approved by the Orange County Board of Supervisors on a trial basis through June.
