Plan Shelved for Rotating Use of Empty Classrooms

MONTEBELLO — After overwhelming teacher and parent opposition, the Montebello Unified School District has backed away from a plan that would have forced teachers to move from room to room in order to make better use of classrooms that remain unused during vacation periods in seven year-round schools.
Teachers and parents were concerned about creating an unstable educational environment for elementary school students who would be forced to change classrooms periodically.
