Hart’s Dionne Will Move North

Hart High point guard Anjanette Dionne, last season’s Times Valley player of the year, said she will leave Hart in April and probably complete her high school career in Oregon.
Dionne’s father had given her the option of staying at Hart for her senior season or moving with the family to Brownsville.
“I am definitely leaving,” Dionne said. “I really think that my father would want me to go with him. It’s possible for me to stay with a family (in Newhall), but I feel like I would be intruding.”
Dionne will attend Central Linn High, which placed fifth in the Class AA Division last season. Dionne, however, did not rule out a return to Hart if Central Linn fails to field a basketball team next season. After severe budget cutbacks at Central Linn, the girls’ basketball program was almost dropped.
“The only way I would come back would be if they didn’t have a team,” Dionne said.
Said Hart Coach Dave Munroe: “We’ll have a uniform waiting for her if she wanted to come back.”
