ANAHEIM — A 14-year-old girl was in serious condition Friday night after she was struck by a car while crossing a street here, police said.
The accident occurred about 3 p.m. Friday on Wagner Avenue, just east of State College Boulevard, Police Sgt. Jim Moore said.
Eloisa Gomez of Anaheim was crossing Wagner to reach a van that had stopped for her in the middle of the street, Moore said. As she walked past the van to go around to the passenger side, she was hit by a 1985 Pontiac.
The girl was flown to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was treated for a fractured right leg, cuts and severe head injuries, Moore said.
No citation has been issued, pending an investigation, Moore said.
