PREP BASKETBALL : SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFFS : Fourth-Quarter Breakout Wins for Morningside

Arthur Savage scored 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, breaking open what had been a close game, as top-seeded Inglewood Morningside High defeated Cabrillo, 79-59, in a Division III-A boys’ basketball game at Morningside Tuesday night.
The Monarchs (25-3) led, 51-44, after three quarters, before outscoring Cabrillo, 28-15, in the final eight minutes.
Stais Boseman added 21 points for Morningside. Robert Robinson led Cabrillo (10-14) with 22.
Eisenhower 80, Chaffey 75--Derrick Barnes scored 21 points as the Eagles rallied to win a I-A game at Chaffey.
Eisenhower (19-8) trailed, 69-59, with 4 minutes 30 seconds to play when a 2-2-1 pressure defense keyed a late spurt.
Michael Anderson led Chaffey (19-7) with 22 points.
Santa Barbara 70, Inglewood 65--Alexy Dvortcsak’s 10-foot shot broke a 62-62 tie with 1:57 remaining, and the Dons outscored Inglewood, 10-3, down the stretch in a I-A game at Inglewood.
Santa Barbara forward Matt Purdy had a game-high 27 points and center David Palmer added 21 as the Dons improved to 23-5. Inglewood finished 17-10.
On Friday, Santa Barbara faces Irvine, a 48-32 winner over Cerritos.
Alhambra 52, Quartz Hill 49--Hon Trieu’s 24 points led the Moors (22-3) in a I-AA game at Quartz Hill.
Chris Young led the Rebels (21-5) with 16 points. Quartz Hill guard Lee Allen missed a three-point shot as time expired,
The loss ended an eight-game winning streak for the Rebels.
Mater Dei 67, Arroyo 53--The Monarchs, the top-seeded team in I-A, put Arroyo away with a 14-0 fourth-quarter run at Arroyo.
Jason Janeski had 19 points for Mater Dei (25-4) and J.J. Ballesteros added 18.
Muir 77, Camarillo 76--Demetrius Collier hit a three-point basket with three seconds left in overtime of a II-AA game at Camarillo.
Camarillo led by as many as 14 points in the first half, but Muir (21-4) rallied to tie the score, 72-72, at the end of regulation.
David Harbour led Camarillo (15-8) with 33 points and seven assists, and David Nathaniel added 23 points.
Glendora 72, Agoura 64--Freshman Cameron Murray scored a game-high 25 points to lead visiting Glendora in a II-AA game.
Glendora trailed for most of the game, but its pressure defense forced numerous turnovers in the fourth quarter as the Tartars outscored Agoura, 23-15.
Dennis Fowler had 22 points for Agoura, which finished the season at 15-9. Sean Martin was held to 13 points and Eddie Corridori had 12 before fouling out.
Torrance 78, Rosemead 77--Joe Zaletel hit a six-foot jump shot as time expired in overtime giving the Tartars (20-6) the victory in a II-AA game at Torrance.
Jeff McDonough topped Rosemead (18-5) with 28 points. Mike Deane led Torrance with 27, Kris Radcliffe had 23 and Zaletel 20.
Torrance faces Riverside North in a quarterfinal game Friday.
Rosemead finished the season 21-5.
Riverside North 53, Bishop Amat 44--Quincy Brewer had 25 points for Riverside North (22-3) in a II-AA game at Bishop Amat (18-7).
Ribet Academy 133, Highland Hall 17--Jaiquin Moore scored 36 points to lead top-seeded Ribet Academy (25-2) to a V-A rout at home.
Jon Klejnot scored seven points for Highland Hall (12-9).
