Los Angeles police have identified the victims of a drive-by shooting Monday night in Sepulveda.
Jeremiah Morris, 15, of Sylmar died of a chest wound suffered outside an apartment building at 9031 Burnet Ave., Los Angeles Police Lt. Al Durrer said.
A companion, Eugene Perry, 37, was in stable condition at an area hospital with a wound to the buttocks, Durrer said.
Durrer said Morris was visiting Perry, who lives in the apartments, when a car slowed down about 6:45 p.m. and someone began firing from the vehicle. The victims had just parked a car and were talking on the sidewalk with a third man, who was uninjured, Durrer said.
Durrer declined to disclose further details, saying the shooting remained under investigation.
